2021
The offices of Classic Homes are relocated to newly renovated state-of-the-art facilities at “Sixty One Sixteen” on Executive Boulevard in North Bethesda, Maryland.
2020
Classic Homes of Maryland partners with Carib Daniel Martin, award winning Bethesda architect, and other local talents, to expand the growing Design Build division.
2016
Having completed one of Montgomery County’s first Design For Life approved homes, Classic Homes is featured at the website launch for the program with County Executive Ike Leggett and the homeowner.
2013
The Home Builders Association of Maryland awards Classic Home’s Lily Stone model “Best Customized Home” in its category. The Lily Stone has since been built in various shapes and sizes all over the Bethesda area.
2011
Classic Homes of Maryland delivers its 100th home with 5 years of incorporation. Staff grows to over 20 employees.
2009
Classic Homes co-owner Amita Jain featured in a Baltimore Sun article on the wide array of choices offered to on-your-lot homebuyers.
2008
Classic Homes of Maryland is featured on the ABC TV show “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition“, building a home to be donated in just four days.
2006
Classic Homes of Maryland opens its offices, serving Montgomery County, Howard County and parts of Prince George’s, Frederick and Anne Arundel counties, building custom and semi-custom homes on customer-owned land.
2002
Classic Homes of Maryland is incorporated and the on-your-lot system was developed.
1998
DD Puri Foundation is formed as a central means of helping others around the world – from expanding the Patiala School for the Deaf and Blind in rural India to scholarships for young people in refugee camps in Kenya.
1997
The original company is sold to K Hovnanian Homes, having built approximately 1,500 homes in a span of 14 years throughout Prince William, Stafford, Fairfax and Loudoun Counties – consistently ranking as one of the top 400 builders in the country.
1990
By 1990 the founders were building 75 to 180 houses a year, and had acquired over 150 acreage lots and property for a 150 townhomes in Prince William County, Virginia.
1987
An acquisition of 38 raw lots in Chantilly, Virginia leads to a completed community, with all lots developed, built and sold by the fall of 1987. Additional property was acquired for future developments.
1986
Having grown to building six homes a year, the founders quit their jobs to devote themselves to building homes full-time.
1983
The principals of Classic Homes founded their first company, incorporating in Virginia while working full-time jobs.
